About Bryon Black
Bryon Black of Woodruff, WI, creates a long lasting impression with his perspectives of wildlife, landscapes, people, and abstract art. Dream like oil paintings come to life with movement and abstract magic. There is one thing that connects all Bryon Black's paintings. Optimism.
"My paintings are purposely optimistic," says Bryon. "In the face of dreary news reports and frightening global issues, I need them to be that way so so that I remain that way!"
Abstraction is also a common theme in his work. The abstraction allows him to remove superfluous details and emphasize design elements that reflect his observations on reality.
"Right now, I am very interested in showing my subjects in motion, and inextricably connected to their environment." says Bryon. "I steal some of those ideas from the Cubists, thank you! But abstraction allows me to further explore those ideas in very interesting and beautiful ways."
"I have been lucky to live my life surrounded by artists and art enablers! My father, my mother, my grandfather, my grandmother, and my super-talented wife were (and still are) always encouraging me to make art - if not making art on their own! "
While Bryon's art is often inspired by nature, but he is also inspired by art history, science fiction, and the people around him.
Bryon lives and works in Woodruff, Wisconsin with his wife, Katie, three teenage boys, two dogs, and two horses. When he is not tracking oil paint all over the house, he works as a web developer for COLE Publishing in Three Lakes, WI.
